Gerardo is partner of the Firm and head of our Regulatory and Public Law Practice Group since 2013. He is a graduate of the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú, where he also concluded a LL.M program for Public Services Regulation.
He joined the firm after heading the legal department of the Peruvian Telecommunications Agency – OSIPTEL. His professional practice is focused on various regulated industries -including energy, telecommunication and transport infrastructure- and public law.
He has an extensive experience in dealing with regulatory agencies, including OSINERGMIN, OSITRAN, INDECOPI and public entities such as the Ministry of Transport and Communications, the Ministry of Energy and Mines and PROINVERSIÓN. He has also repeatedly led the defence of several companies in administrative proceedings initiated by the aforementioned entities.
Gerardo gives permanent legal advice in every regulatory aspect to various companies in the power field, including Enel Generación Perú S.A.A. and Enel Distribución Perú S.A.A., two of the biggest private firms in electricity generation and distribution in the country. He also gives permanent legal advice to Genrent del Perú S.A.C. and Conelsur LT S.A.C. on different regulatory matters related to the sector.
